Virginia has thousands of nonprofits. Most of them never get found.

They don't have marketing budgets or SEO teams. They have missions — and the people who could help them don't know they exist.

That's why we built this.

Virginia Nonprofits is a free, curated directory built for the people who want to find meaningful local work — and for the organizations that deserve to be found.

Here's how it works.

Step 1

Submit an organization.

Anyone can recommend a nonprofit using the submission form. You don't need to work there — you just need to know they're doing good work.

Step 2

We review and publish.

Every submission is reviewed within 3–5 business days. We verify it's a registered nonprofit operating in Virginia, then it goes live.

Step 3

Claim and keep it current.

Organizations can claim their listing to update their mission, website, and contact info anytime. The people closest to the work keep it accurate.

Built for everyone in the community.

Donors looking for trustworthy local organizations that match their values and geography — not just the national names that dominate search results.

Volunteers searching for meaningful ways to give their time close to home, whether that's a Saturday morning river cleanup or a weekly tutoring commitment.

Community members who want to know what nonprofits operate in their corner of the state — or who've heard about one and want to learn more.

The nonprofits themselves — especially smaller organizations without marketing budgets. Being listed here means being visible to the Virginians most likely to care.

The distance between "I want to help" and "here's how" should be as short as possible.

A Brenneis AI Project

Virginia Nonprofits is built and maintained by Brenneis AI, a web and automation agency serving Virginia nonprofits and small businesses. We built this because we work with nonprofits every day and saw how many excellent organizations remain invisible online.

This is our way of closing that gap — a free public resource, no strings attached.
